Prof. Siri Hettige

PhD Soc (Monash, Australia), B.Phil. Soc (Colombo), BA (Hons) (Colombo)

Emeritus Professor of Sociology at the University of Colombo and an adjunct Professor at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia, Siri Hettige has specialized in Sociology since he began his academic career. Completing his BA (Hons) and BPhil in Sociology at the University of Colombo, he obtained his PhD in Sociology at Monash University, Australia. He was a Fulbright Senior Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania, U.S.A. He is Chairman of the Steering Committee on Social Innovations at the National Science Foundation, Sri Lanka. Professor Hettige held the positions of Professor and Head, Department of Sociology, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Senior Student Counselor, University of Colombo. He has also held visiting academic appointment at a number of overseas universities in such countries as the USA, Australia, Germany, UK, Finland and Switzerland. He held the founding Chair of Sri Lanka Studies at the South Asia Institute, Heidelberg University, Germany 2016-17. He has also been active in many professional and academic associations, both nationally and internationally, regularly participating in their activities.

 

Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy

DPhil Econ (Sussex), MA (Cambridge), BA (Hons) (Cambridge)

He was the 14th Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (retd. 2019). Dr. Coomaraswamy obtained both his BA (Hons) and MA in Economics at the University of Cambridge, UK, and his DPhil in Economics at the University of Sussex. He began his career as an economist with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in 1973, serving the Central Bank for fifteen years, working in the Departments of Economic Research, Statistics and, Bank Supervision. He then served the Commonwealth Secretariat in London, 1990–2008, as a senior economist, including as Head ofthe Economic Affairs Division and, Interim Director of the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Social Transformation Programme Division.  He was economic adviser to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in 2001-2. He has served on the University of Sri Jayawardenapura’s Board of Study (Public Administration). He was a member of the Monetary Policy Consultative Committee of CBSL from 2013 – 2015.

 

Prof. Bandara Wanninayake

PhD (TBU, CZ), MBA (Colombo), Bsc. Mktg (Sp)USJ, Dip.in Mktg(UK)

Prof. Bandara Wanninayake is a Professor in Marketing attached to the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya. He graduated with second upper-class honors from the University of Sri Jayawardanepura, and he holds a Ph.D. from Tomas Bata University, Czech Republic, an MBA from the University of Colombo, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom.  Currently, he is specialized in lecturing on Strategic marketing management, Sales management, and Consumer Behavior, and Research Methodology at the University of Kelaniya and working as a visiting faculty in both local and foreign affiliated universities and higher education institutions. Further, he has published more than 35 research articles in reputed international research journals and proceedings of international research conferences. Currently, he is serving as the Director of the Staff Development Center at the University of Kelaniya and a research consultant for several leading companies.

 

Prof. Ravi Dissanayake

PhD (Taylors, Malaysia), DBA (Swtzerland), MBA (PIM), B.B. Mgt (Kelaniya)

Senior scholar in the Department of Marketing Management, University of Kelaniya, Prof. Dissanayake has won much recognition locally and internationally for his speciality of strategic marketing. Having completed his Bachelor of Business Management with First Class Honours at the University of Kelaniya, and his MBA at the Post Graduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayawardenapura, he went on to obtain a Doctorate in Business Administration (BDA) at the prestigious European University Business School, Montreux Campus, Switzerland. He then further obtained a PhD in Business Studies from Taylor University of Malaysia. His academic expertise in business studies has enabled him to pioneer in the academic design of business studies programs in three upcoming national universities. He has also previously advised five major private higher studies institutions on business curriculum design. In addition to multiple teaching roles, he has won awards, locally and internationally, for his research collaborations in branding strategy, brand simulation, marketing logistics, business case studies, business management and many related specialised subjects. Publishing extensively in local and international academic journals, Prof. Dissanayake is currently Chief Editor of Sri Lanka Journal of Marketing of the University of Kelaniya.

 

Dr. Nazeefa Fawzer

PhD in IBF, MBA, BBA (IIUM, Mal)
Dean of Studies

Dr. Nazeefa is the Dean of Studies at Ivey Institute of Business and Technology. She received her PhD in Islamic Banking and Finance from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).  She also holds an MBA in IBF and Bachelor of Business Administration from IIUM. Her research interest is in the field of Finance, Islamic Finance and Economics. She has participated in many research symposia overseas and in Sri Lanka. For the past 15 years she has worked as a senior lecturer and an academic administrator in major universities in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. Prior to joining Ivey, she was the Head of Academic Affairs at Bristol Institute of Business Management, Sri Lanka, which partners with the University of the West of England, the highest ranked UK university currently operating in Sri Lanka. She has been a senior lecturer and coordinator at APIIT, Sri Lanka affiliated partner of Staffordshire University, UK and APU, Malaysia.
